On August 23, the Mission Institute celebrated several important and joyful events that marked another step forward in the vocation and formation of those preparing to serve God and His Church.
That Sunday, several students of the Mission Institute received the minor orders and were instituted as lectors. The ministry of lector is an important stage in spiritual formation and preparation for future service. By receiving this ministry, a candidate takes on a special responsibility for proclaiming the Word of God and assisting in the liturgical life of the Church.
Another particularly joyful occasion was the ordination of one of the students to the diaconate. The ministry of a deacon is a vocation to selfless service of God and His people and an important part of the life of the Church. It marks a new stage of service that calls for spiritual maturity, responsibility, and a willingness to give of oneself for the good of God’s people.
Another important moment was the blessing of a catechist who successfully completed her program of studies. The ministry of catechesis holds a special place in the life of the Church. Through catechesis, children, young people, and adults deepen their knowledge of God, Sacred Scripture, and the Christian faith. Completing this program is an important step that opens new opportunities for service and for sharing the faith with others.
The minor orders, the ordination to the diaconate, and the blessing of the catechist were administered by Bishop Benedict (Alexiychuk). His presence and prayer were a special sign of support and encouragement for those beginning or continuing their journey of service to the Church.
The Mission Institute is a place where the faithful not only acquire the knowledge they need but also deepen their understanding of their vocation, grow in faith, and prepare for concrete forms of service to God’s people. Each ordination, institution, or blessing is the fruit of prayer, study, hard work, and spiritual formation.
We sincerely congratulate all those who received these ministries and blessings on this special day. We pray that God may grant them wisdom, perseverance, courage, and strength to carry out their service with love and responsibility. May the Lord guide each of them in their vocation, strengthen them in faith, and help them bear witness to Christ through their lives.
May their service be for the glory of God, for the good of the Church, and for the salvation of God’s people.
