On October 8, 2026, an important milestone was marked in the construction of the new St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in San Diego, California. Father Yurii Sas, parish administrator, blessed the five crosses that will crown the cupolas of the new church.

The crosses arrived from Ukraine after a long wait. Their blessing marked an important step in the construction of the church and a special moment for the parish community.

The crosses above the cupolas will serve as visible signs of Christian faith and of the Ukrainian spiritual tradition on American soil.

The parish expresses its heartfelt gratitude to all donors, benefactors, volunteers, and faithful whose prayers, hard work, and generosity support the construction of the new church.
