Thanksgiving message

On this Thanksgiving Day, we will traditionally gather with family and friends to celebrate this holiday and share our Lord’s gifts. Let’s take a moment, look back at the passing year, and see the endless graces and boundless love bestowed upon us by God.
As I reflect on this year, I remain truly grateful to God for all of you - our faithful, priests, deacons, seminarians, sisters and brothers in Christ, for your love for Him and our Church, for your prayers and support.
How can we thank the One who has granted us eternal life through the Resurrection? There are countless ways. First, continue celebrating the Liturgy every Sunday and praying daily, and do not neglect the gift of the Eucharist.
Eucharist in Greek means “thanksgiving”, by receiving it, we already express our gratitude to the Lord for His abundant graces.
We can thank our Lord also by inviting the hungry, the thirsty, and the naked, and share the Lord’s gifts, like Abraham and Sarah once shared their food with the angels.
Let us be open and generous to all, share the spiritual and daily meal with those who need it most, and let us thank the Lord for His endless graces and care for us…
Happy Thanksgiving!
Most Reverend Benedict
