"SvjatoslavІ believe that this eparchy is going to become one of the most dynamic out of all our eparchies around the world. And here, in the West of America, it will be able to melt the hearts of even those who, perhaps, have lost the connection with their Church, and could help a lot of people with different nationalities to newly reveal the presence of God among us. We have so much to tell the world". His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Father and Head of the UGCC.

Conferral of Minor Orders upon Students of the Mission Institute

A notable event took place at St. Nicholas Cathedral on May 22, 2022.  His Grace Bishop Benedict conferred the minor order of Reader-Cantor upon four students of the Mission Institute.  Two additional students were tonsured the previous Sunday, May 15, at the parish of St. Constantine in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The tonsured brothers belong to various parishes across several states that make up the St. Nicholas Eparchy.  Our Eparchy is now enriched with six Reader-Cantors.  Their goal is to continue to serve the Lord in their respective parishes, but is also the first step in the road to the deaconate.

In his homily during the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, Bishop Benedict stressed the importance of faith, which manifests itself through service to God and one’s neighbor.

Following the community prayer, Eparchial protosyncellus, Fr. Richard Janowicz, expressed his wish that the newly-tonsured brothers always shine with the light of Divine Love and share that Light with all around them.
