"SvjatoslavІ believe that this eparchy is going to become one of the most dynamic out of all our eparchies around the world. And here, in the West of America, it will be able to melt the hearts of even those who, perhaps, have lost the connection with their Church, and could help a lot of people with different nationalities to newly reveal the presence of God among us. We have so much to tell the world". His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Father and Head of the UGCC.

The parish of Sts. Peter and Paul celebrated its first Resurrectional Divine Liturgy

On Sunday, the 11th of July, the feast of St. Olha, Princess of Kyiv, the newly established parish of Sts. Peter and Paul celebrated its first Resurrectional Divine Liturgy.

Sts. Peter and Paul was established by Vladyka Benedict on May 28th of this year as a new mission of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the Flathead Valley of Northwestern Montana.

Attending the Divine Liturgy were some 50 faithful of both Greek and Roman Catholic backgrounds. The Divine Liturgy was held at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church in downtown Kalispell. In response to the needs of the new parish, Bishop Vetter, of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Helena, along with Fr. Stan Rog and the parish community of St. Matthew's, offered their newly renovated church as a temporary home for the fledgling community. The litanies and hymns were chanted by a mixed choir of talented, local Catholics who graciously offered to help the new parish by learning the beautiful chant tradition of the Eastern Church, while Fr. Daniel Kirk was the celebrating priest. The parishioners of Sts. Peter and Paul are overjoyed at the opportunity to share the riches of the Eastern Catholic tradition with any and all who may find consolation and peace in praying this ancient liturgy with them in the days and years to come.
