Our eparchy has a new priest and a new parish. Father Daniel Kirk, a convert to the Orthodox Church, was ordained a priest of the Serbian Orthodox Church in 2015. He was appointed as pastor of the mission church of St. Herman of Alaska, in Kalispell, Montana, his home state. Under his leadership since 2015, the mission developed into a full-sized parish. Over the past few years as a result of his observations, study and prayer, Father Daniel became convinced that the Catholic Church possessed the fullness of faith which Christ intended for His Church. In order to follow these convictions, earlier this year, Father Daniel and his wife, asked that they and their children be accepted into the Ukrainian Catholic Church, St. Nicholas Eparchy.
This past May 16th, Father resigned his position as pastor of St. Herman’s Church, and was received into the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church through a Profession of Faith, along with his wife, Dobrodiyka Anne, and including their three children, Phoebe (9), Benjamin (almost 7) and Beatrice (5). On May 28th, Bishop Benedict established the new parish of Sts. Peter and Paul, in Kalispell, Montana, and appointed Father Daniel as Parochial Administrator.
