As every year, St. Andrew Ukrainian Catholic Church in Sacramento gathered parishioners and guests to celebrate the Feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God.

The celebration began with a common prayer, during which everyone thanked the Mother of God for her care and protection over the Ukrainian people and prayed for peace in Ukraine. After the prayer, everyone enjoyed delicious food prepared by the parish Sisterhood.

A highlight of the event was a creative program with performances by active parish members and Plast scouts, which brought joy, unity, and a spirit of patriotism. The celebration ended with everyone singing “Oi u luzi chervona kalyna”, a song that has become a heartfelt prayer for Ukraine.

A fun new addition this year was the photo booth, where guests could take instant pictures as souvenirs.

The Feast of the Protection at St. Andrew Parish once again reminded everyone that where there is prayer, love, and good works — there God is present.
