From personal experience, we know that the Lord speaks to us most frequently when difficulties or calamities come into our lives. At such moments, the Lord seems to crush not only our bones but also our hearts. Perhaps this is often the only way we are capable of hearing God, and afterwards we begin to change. The Lord is sowing something in our hearts every second and yearns to tell us something. It is very important to be attentive to our lives. We must notice the events and circumstances through which God wants to speak to us. Since we implore God to guide and help us but at the same time do not pay attention to His commands, we will not receive what we are asking for. Therefore, let us soften our hearts through prayer, by reading Holy Scripture, by participating in the Holy Mysteries, and in doing so we will be able to hear the voice of the Lord and follow Him!
